Mississauga Office Strategy Study

The latest study in our series shows the benefits of collaboration between land use policy, transit planning and economic development. The benefits linked the shared value of both public and private sector investment in building a better environment in which to live, work and play.

Impact

  • Proposed LRT-based transit solution for Mississauga City Centre to support a live-work environment.
  • Led City to adopt new land use policies and stimulate transit-oriented office development on the Hurontario corridor.
  • Led to Provincial government funding for the Hurontario LRT, now in final stages of EA.
  • Led to the decision by Sheridan College to acquire a downtown site instead of locating new campus at a (free) highway oriented site.
